Russia's Akinfeev leads Celtic's Boruc in poll for Euro 2008's best keeper

Celtic star Artur Boruc is battling it out with Russian rival Igor Akinfeev to be named goalkeeper of the tournament.

The Polish ace is currently second in the poll to be crowned as the best shotstopper at the Finals.

Boruc was Poland's star performer in the competition, prompting BBC pundit and England legend Alan Shearer to label him as the best in the world.

But the Parkhead hero trails Akinfeev in the polls, with 22 per cent of the voting - two per cent adrift of his No 1 rival.

The CSKA Moscow goalkeeper has been in terrific form as Guus Hiddink's team progressed to last night's semi-final with Spain.

Holland's Edwin van der Sar is third in the poll, with Italian icon Gianluigi Buffon in fourth.
