Ruud van Nistelrooy ready to quit Real Madrid for AC MIlan in a £6m summer move

Ruud van Nistelrooy is close to completing a £6million move from Real Madrid to AC Milan, where he seems likely to join up with Barcelona's Ronaldinho next season.

The Holland striker, 32 in July, joined Real from Manchester United for £12.5m in 2006. In his first season at the Bernabeu he scored 25 goals as Real won the Spanish title and despite injuries this season, Van Nistelrooy has scored 12 goals in 21 matches.

Real are likely to make a move for Chelsea's Didier Drogba as Van Nistelrooy's replacement.

Chelsea are the latest club to run the rule over Slovakia international Marek Hamsik.

The 6ft tall Napoli midfielder impressed Chelsea scouts during the 2-0 victory over Atalanta last weekend.

The 20-year-old, who models himself on Pavel Nedved, has also attracted interest from Juventus and Manchester United.
