Ruud van Nistelrooy's agent denies former Manchester United striker is to leave Real Madrid for AC Milan

Ruud van Nistelrooy's agent has dismissed speculation the prolific Dutchman may leave Real Madrid for AC Milan this summer.

Recent media reports have suggested the Italian side are in the hunt for the 31-year-old former Manchester United striker, who is currently sidelined after undergoing an ankle operation.

Staying: Ruud van Nistelrooy has renewed his contract

But the player's agent Rodger Linse is adamant there is nothing in those stories.

"They are made up. During the last few days I have had friends calling me to ask if Van Nistelrooy is going to Milan. I don't where all this has come from," said Linse.

Van Nistelrooy joined Madrid from United in 2006 and in January he penned a new deal at the Bernabeu tying him to the Spanish giants until the end of the 2010 season.

"He has just renewed his contract and he is happy at Real Madrid. The truth is there is nothing," added Linse in Marca.

"I was in Madrid a little bit recently, watching the game between Real Madrid and Valencia, and I was able to meet with (Madrid sporting director Predrag) Mijatovic. But we did not talk about any of this."
