Ryan Rhodes knocks out Gary Woolcombe to reclaim the British light-middleweight title

Sheffield veteran Rhodes, 31, originally won the belt in 1996 before his career stalled after a 1997 defeat by Otis Grant for the WBO middleweight title.
The Yorkshire southpaw has stuck at it, however, and tonight impressed with victory against Woolcombe, 25, who was making his first defence having won the title against Marcus Portman.
Classy Rhodes seized control early in the fight and stepped things up with a superb sixth round.
His stylish punch-picking, especially the right hook and southpaw left, were causing Woolcombe problems and the left forced the Lewisham man to take a count before holding on desperately for the end of the round.
A looping right hand landed with a thud on Woolcombe's temple to leave the dethroned champion prone on the canvas, silencing the respectful York Hall and securing Rhodes a 27th knockout victory in a career consisting of 39 wins and four defeats.
