Samoa ignore Wilko 'tackle' to give Lima send-off

Brian Lima has been selected for his World Cup swansong on Wednesday - despite a disciplinary cloud hanging over the Samoan centre.

Lima faces a disciplinary hearing today after being cited for an alleged dangerous tackle on England fly-half Jonny Wilkinson during Saturday's 44-22 Pool A defeat in Nantes.

Lima, the only player to feature in five World Cups, is set to bow out of Test rugby following the tournament.

If he is cleared by disciplinary chiefs though, the 35-year-old will start in midfield alongside Seilala Mapusua for Samoa's final group game against the United States in St Etienne.

Should Lima not be available, Sale Sharks' Elvis Seveali'i will take over the number 12 shirt.

Samoa, already eliminated from the competition, have lost flanker Dan Leo (broken wrist) and number eight Henry Tuilagi (shoulder) after a bruising clash against England.

Justin Purdie replaces Leo, with skipper Semo Sititi moving to blindside flanker and Alfie Vaeluaga starting at number eight.

Team: L Crichton; L Fa'atau, S Mapusua, E Seveali'i or B Lima, A Tuilagi; E Fuimaono-Sapolu, J Polu; K Lealamanua, M Schwalger, C Johnston, L Lafaiali'i, K Thompson, S Sititi (capt), J Purdie, A Vaeluaga.

Replacements: S Vaisola, N Leleimalefaga, J Tekori, U Ulia, S So'oialo, D Lemi, E Seveali'i or L Lui.
