Save us an English foe for the final, says Liverpool boss Benitez

Rafael Benitez insists he would relish the chance to take on another English side in the Champions League Final.

Fernando Torres scored the only goal as Liverpool beat Serie A leaders Inter Milan in the San Siro last night to ensure Benitez's side became the fourth English team in the last eight of the competition, alongside Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United.

Torres took advantage of the extra space afforded to him by Nicolas Burdisso's 50th-minute dismissal to make it 1-0 on the night and 3-0 on aggregate in the last-16 tie.

Hot-seat: Liverpool boss Benitez fears no one in the last eight of the Champions League

The Inter defender was sent off for a second booking after a clumsy tackle on Lucas Leiva.

Benitez has already seen off Chelsea in the semi-finals of the competition in two of the last three seasons and would have no qualms about meeting another Premier League side in the Moscow final in May.

Looking forward to Friday's quarter-final draw, the Reds boss said: "I do not have any preference about who we play next, but I would be more than happy to face an English side in the final.

"This victory shows the power and strength of the Premier League. We have fine clubs who are among the best in Europe."
