Scan boost for Bale but he misses Euro clash

Gareth Bale is out of Tottenham's UEFA Cup clash against Getafe tomorrow but scans have revealed bruising to his foot rather than a break.

Manager Martin Jol feared the left-back had suffered a serious injury at Newcastle but Bale should return to the first team in a few weeks and Jol said: "If everything is fine he will only be out for around 10 days."

The Wales youngster joins Ledley King (knee), Paul Robinson (calf), Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee) and Ricardo Rocha (ankle) on the sidelines.

Young-Pyo Lee (shoulder) is a doubt but is in the squad. Ben Alnwick has returned from his loan at Luton but is not registered to play.
