Schools rugby: Wellington given boot but stay top

Daily Mail Cup holders Wellington College were dumped out of the competition after suffering their first defeat of the season but they still remain top of rugby union's Evening Standard's 1st XV League.

The Berkshire side were beaten 6-5 by St Peters, Gloucester, who were controversially disqualified last year for breaking the rules in the same fixture. RGS High Wycombe, 16th in the league, produced the result of the fifth round by winning 17-16 at Colston's.

Beaten finalists St Benedict's improve by the week and saw off Campion 13-8 in Essex.
