Shaun Murphy goes through after minor scare

Shaun Murphy survived a scare today as he edged into the second round of the World Championship at The Crucible with a 10-8 victory over newcomer Andrew Higginson.

The 2005 champion lost three of the first four frames this morning to trail 7-6 at the mid-session interval.

But Murphy rallied, winning the next three frames, including a break of 101, and eventually went through to set up a match with in-form Marco Fu.

Wales's Ryan Day, meanwhile, took a 6-3 lead against England's Stephen Lee.
