Despite knocking Arsenal out of the Champions League and the 18point gap between the teams in the Premier League, Ferguson has regularly defended Arsene Wenger's team this year.

Ferguson has sealed only one of his 10 titles at Old Trafford thinks Arsenal will be keen to put on a show when the football world expects United to get the job done.

He said: "Arsenal will want to do well because they've had a bit of criticism recently.

"They will want to register their abilities on a day when everyone expects United to win the title."

Ferguson will be without centre-back Rio Ferdinand, who has missed the last two matches due to a calf problem.

Ferguson is still hopeful he will prove his fitness before the Champions League final against Barcelona on 27 May.
