Getting shirty: There's no No.1 for Brad Jones
Southgate has challenged hopefuls Ross Turnbull and Brad Jones to prove they are the men to plug that gap left by the 35-year-old Australian amid speculation he could draft in an experienced replacement.
However, 23-year-old Turnbull will continue to wear the number 21, while Jones, 26, has retained the number 22 shirt.
New signing Marvin Emnes has been given Jeremie Aliadiere's number 11 with the
Frenchman swapping to the 10 vacated by Fabio Rochemback, while Didier Digard will wear eight, which has been spare since Jonathan Woodgate's move to Tottenham in January.
Full-back Andrew Taylor has replaced Julio Arca in the number three shirt rather than 33, with the Argentinian moving to 20.
Lee Cattermole is listed at number 27 but the 20-year-old is the subject of a £3.5million bid from Wigan which could yet see him leave the Riverside Stadium.
