Missed chance: Spurs hold advantage in shoot-out but Gomez saves Jenas' penalty
But Gomes, who sealed PSV's place in tomorrow's UEFA Cup quarter-final draw when he saved Jermaine Jenas' spot-kick in the last-16 second leg, told www.psv.nl: "I don't agree that penalties are a lottery.
"I try to wait until the final moment and wait on the player's decision before I react.

Missed chance: Pascal Chimbonda sent his crucial effort wide and PSV are through
Defender Dirk Marcellis admitted PSV took a cautious approach to the game.
"We did not take any risks as long as it was 0-0," he said.
"We defended well, but Berbatov scored a goal nine minutes from time."
The 19-year-old earned plaudits from coach Sef Vergoossen for holding his nerve and scoring what proved to be the decisive penalty.
"It turned out to be the last spot-kick, but I didn't know that, as a Tottenham player still had to take his penalty," said Marcellis.
"Our coach had appointed five players; then (Otman) Bakkal stepped up and finally it was my turn. This is just great!"
