Spurs hoping Jol jumps at job

Tottenham are hoping that Martin Jol will take the PSV Eindhoven job this week and save them almost £4 million in compensation.

Jol, who was sacked by Spurs last week, is still in negotiations over the amount he is due to be paid on his contract that ran until next year.

If he steps straight back into a well-paid job with PSV, replacing Valencia-bound Ronald Koeman, thatwould mitigate Tottenham's costs. It means Spurs may get away with paying about £1m.

PSVwould like Jol for Wednesday's visit to Fenerbahce.

But Jol wants to reach agreement with Spurs before compromising his compensation package.
