Spurs manager warns Arsenal: My White Hart Lane kids are catching you up

Tottenham boss Martin Jol has once again highlighted the difference between his club and bitter North London rivals Arsenal - but insisted the gap is closing.

While the Gunners sit top of the Premier League, unbeaten this season, Spurs have struggled.

One for the future: Gareth Bale

Arsenal have taken the plaudits for fielding so many young players but Jol points out that he's doing the same - but his kids have not grown in the shadow of legends.

Jol said: "At Arsenal, Gael Clichy has been playing left-back for years, getting used to his role behind Ashley Cole. Then he comes into the team.

"Cesc Fabregas was there three or four years, they are all on the bench and come on when things are going well.

"Against Middlesbrough this week I started with Michael Dawson who is 22, Younes Kaboul, 21 and Gareth Bale, 18. That is the difference still with the big clubs.

"It's a very good situation as it's a joy to work with them but in games they have to learn.

"Kaboul, Kevin Prince Boateng and Bale did not play in the Premier League until this season. Hopefully they will develop into very good players."
