Storm will not be caught cold against Leeds in World Club Challenge despite baggage blow

Australia's Grand Final winners Melbourne Storm hit the shops within hours of arriving in Leeds to prepare for next week's World Club Challenge against Leeds Rhinos.

Half of their luggage went missing en route via London and they also had to adjust to sub-zero temperatures after leaving behind the 90F of Melbourne.

Storm coach Craig Bellamy remained unfazed, saying: 'The air is nice and crisp here and the lads are quite enjoying the change from hot to cold.

'Some bags have gone missing but they'll turn up and the shops are just up the road.

'It hasn't disrupted our preparations because the players travelled in tracksuits so it wasn't a problem getting them into the gym today.'

Bellamy's men will be better prepared than most NRL sides who have seen English clubs dominate the World Club Challenge since Melbourne beat St Helens at Wigan eight years ago.

Only Sydney Roosters, in 2003, have since been successful.

Melbourne flew business class and have time in hand before they face Leeds at Elland Road a week tomorrow.

They will give all 21 players a runout in a warm-up game at Halifax tomorrow.

Bellamy's biggest problem could be the unavailability of six of his Grand Final winners either through injury, compassionate leave or, in the case of centre Matt King and forward Clint Newton, moves to Super League clubs.
