Sublimity heads strong Irish team

With almost a third of the 38 entries, Irish trainers will be looking to continue the stranglehold they have held on the Champion Hurdle since 2003.

Topping the list is last year's hero Sublimity. He was fourth on his reappearance behind Osana, who heads the home defence, in the Boylesport.com International Hurdle at Cheltenham in December.

Trainer John Carr reports that Sublimity worked well recently and that he was happy with his progress.

His next race is the AIG Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown on January 27, although the heavy ground currently in Ireland will have to ease.
