Meanwhile Eriksson will check Elano is not suffering from jetlag before including the Brazilian in his squad to face Birmingham tomorrow.

Elano played for Brazil in midweek and was due back in Manchester today. Stephen Ireland is available to play against Birmingham after pulling out of the Republic of Ireland's international squad last week for personal reasons.

Michael Johnson is fit despite missing out on England Under-21 duty with a groin problem and Italian striker Rolando Bianchi is expected to be on the bench, also after returning from a groin injury.
