Team chief Tanner hails an oarsome performance

Britain finished top of the medal table at the Shinyi regatta, with a tally of two golds, two silvers and two bronzes.
Tanner said: "It has been fantastic. Only two nations won more than one gold medal and we were one of them. We have a team with an exceptional amount of talent."
The only major blot on an outstanding weekend for the British rowers was the heartbreak suffered by the women's quadruple skulls team of Kath Grainger, Annie Vernon, Debbie Flood and Frances Houghton.
They were favourites going into yesterday's final and led for most of the race only to be pipped on the line by the Chinese boat. The team were in tears at the end of the race and cried throughout the medal ceremony.
Grainger, who has now won three consecutive Olympic silver medals, said: "We always said that silver wouldn't be good enough for us."
In contrast, it could be the beginning of a beautiful Olympic relationship for Zac Purchase and Mark Hunter, who last night celebrated following the British men's four of Steve Williams, Andy Triggs Hodge, Pete Reed and Tom James in being crowned Olympic champions in the lightweight double skulls.
Hunter was competing at his second Olympics and said the elation of victory was all the greater given the disappointment he suffered in Athens. He added: "Coming 13th in the lightweight four, that was the most depressing experience of my life.
"I started in the double in 2005, Zac came along last year and made us stronger and that is what won it for us - we are the two best guys in the world in a double."
The men's eight also put in a world-class performance with a storming finish to claim a silver medal yesterday. "We were racing for gold but silver is still amazing," said crew member Josh West.
