(INSIDER'S RATING: 0/5 means this deal's pie in the sky. 5/5 and it's a done deal)

Alonso

Alonso

Xabi Alonso, Liverpool to Arsenal - Insider says: 1/5

Liverpool are ready to sell Alonso but want the £16m they were hoping to bank from his move to Juventus until the deal fell through. Arsenal are only offering £10m - even less than Inter Milan and Fenerbahce were prepared to pay - and there is the added consideration of Liverpool selling a top player to one of their Premier League title rivals. The prospect of Spain team-mates Alonso and Cesc Fabregas playing together at The Emirates this season is unlikely unless the Gunners significantly raise their offer.

Senderos

Senderos

Philippe Senderos, Arsenal to Newcastle - Insider says: 2/5

With Newcastle about to tie up a £10m deal for Deportivo La Coruna’s Argentine defender Fabicio Coloccini it is unlikely they will commit £7m more of their transfer budget to another centre back. Kevin Keegan still has Steven Taylor, Cacapa and Abdoulaye Faye to choose from, and is desperate to bring in more full-backs with Blackburn’s Stephen Warnock a priority. He is also known to be unhappy at the prospect of losing goalkeeper Shay Given as part of the Senderos deal.

Johnson

Johnson

Andy Johnson, Everton to Fulham - Insider says: 4/5

The deal is in some doubt following a problem with Johnson’s medical, but both clubs are keen to get it done and the striker has his heart set on a return to London. Although Fulham insist they will not go higher than £8m, Everton are sticking to their guns and want the original deal of £10.5m rising to £13m. If both sides are prepared to give a little it should go through before the start of the season.

Campbell

Campbell

Fraizer Campbell, Manchester United to Hull City - Insider says: 2/5

Hull are desperate to sign the striker who helped fire them into the Premier League while on loan at the KC Stadium last season, but Campbell finally has a chance to make his mark at Old Trafford. Sir Alex Ferguson said as much after he scored the winner against Espanyol on Saturday, particularly considering United’s lack of strikers. Injuries to Cristiano Ronaldo and Louis Saha — who will be sold if he can stay off the treatment table for more than five minutes — mean Ferguson has just Campbell and untried Angola striker Manucho as back-up for Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez. That will change once Dimitar Berbatov arrives from Tottenham, but another loan move for Campbell is the best Hull can hope for at present.

Balde

Balde

Bobo Balde, Celtic to Sunderland - Insider says: 3/5

Roy Keane would prefer to sign Jonny Evans from Manchester United or Tottenham’s Younes Kaboul, but will turn to Balde if he is unsuccessful. The move would still depend on Balde lowering his personal terms, however. The veteran French defender is on £40,000-a-week at Celtic — who are prepared to waive the final year of his contract and give him a free transfer — but Balde still wants more than £30,000-a-week to move to the Stadium of Light.

Annan

Annan

Anthony Annan, Start to Blackburn - Insider says: 4/5

Hailed in some quarters as the new Michael Essien, the Ghana midfielder begins a week’s trial at Blackburn today hoping to seal a move from his Norwegian club Start. Both Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund looked at Annan after he came to prominence in the Africa Nations Cup, and new Rovers boss Paul Ince is ready to give him a chance in the Premier League following the success of Ghanaian midfielders Essien and Sulley Muntari. With only Steven Reid, David Dunn, Johann Vogel and veteran Tugay to play in the middle, Ince might also sign his former MK Dons skipper Keith Andrews.
