(INSIDER'S RATING: 0/5 means this deal's pie in the sky. 5/5 and it's a done deal)
Wright-Phillips
Shaun Wright-Phillips, to - Insider says: 4/5
Armed with the £12.7m he has banked from Sulley Muntari’s move to Inter Milan, Harry Redknapp can finally make his move for SWP. He would still prefer to take the England winger on a season’s loan, and Chelsea might go for that as long as there is the guarantee of a permanent deal at the end of it. Otherwise, Harry will try his luck with an £8m and expect to pay £10m, as he did when haggling with Liverpool over Peter Crouch. Wright-Phillips knows it’s time to move on after three years spent stagnating at Stamford Bridge with no certainty of a fresh start under Big Phil Scolari.
Heskey
Emile Heskey, to Panathanaikos - Insider says: 2/5
It’s highly unlikely Steve Bruce would sell his No.1 striker so close to the start of the new season, having let Marcus Bent and Marlon King go and signed Amr Zaki to partner Heskey. But he has sold him once before when manager of Birmingham and the Greeks have serious money to spend under new boss Henk Ten Cate. There is also the personal issue to consider, with Heskey’s partner Chantelle severely shaken by an armed robbery at the couple’s Cheshire home last week. She is demanding they move house and a change abroad might appeal — but it’s doubtful.
Keane
Robbie Keane, to - Insider says: 5/5
Spurs boss Juande Ramos withdrew Keane from the squad to face Hercules in Spain on Thursday night even though he is fully fit, and then refused to talk about him afterwards, so all the signs are that a move is imminent — possibly over the weekend or early next week. The initial fee will be £18m but could rise to £20m if Liverpool win the title or Champions League while Keane is at Anfield. At least Ramos can now go out and buy David Bentley and still have a couple of million to spare.
Charisteas
Angelos Charisteas, FC Nuremberg to - Insider says 3/5
Having just agreed a £5.5m fee deal and £25,000-a-week wages to take Dave Kitson from Reading, will Stoke’s millionaire owner Peter Coates fork out a similar for Charisteas? Like most clubs coming into the Premier League for the first time, Stoke must decide whether to gamble on staying up and hand out big, long-term contracts to new players who could be stuck on their wage bill in the Championship in 12 months time. Thre is no doubt Charisteas is a good player — the scorer of Greece’s winner in the Euro 2004 Final was their only scorer in the whole of Euro 2008 — but £5m is still a lot of money for a Greek from Nuremberg.
Davis
Steve Davis, to - Insider says: 4/5
Rangers have upped their offer to £3.5m, and although Fulham want the £4m they paid Aston Villa a year ago they are unlikely to quibble as they put together a package for Everton striker Andy Johnson. Davis was left behind when Roy Hodgson took his squad on a tour of South Korea and is expected to return to Ibrox where he spent the second half of last season loan. The only threat to this deal going through is if new Blackburn boss Paul Ince makes a late move for the Northern Ireland midfielder.
