(INSIDER'S RATING: 0/5 means this deal's pie in the sky. 5/5 and it's a done deal)
Johnson
Andy Johnson, Everton to Fulham - Insider says: 4/5
Fulham’s decision to join Wigan and Sunderland in the race for Johnson could prove decisive, with the former Crystal Palace striker keen on a return to London. He would have preferred a move to West Ham but they are currently trying to get several high earners off the wage bill and are unlikely to enter the bidding at £10.5m. Although Fulham are desperate for new strikers and will give Everton a £2m profit on a player they signed from Palace for £8.6m two years ago, David Moyes is unlikely to let Johnson go until he has signed a replacement.
Frings
Torsten Frings, Werder Bremen to Newcastle - Insider says: 1/5
The Germany midfielder has been offered to Newcastle by his agents but Kevin Keegan wants reinforcements in other areas and is unlikely to sign a player who, at 31, is well past his best. Keegan may be desperate to sign new players, but not that desperate.
Boulahrouz
Khalid Boulahrouz, Chelsea to Stuttgart - Insider says: 5/5
Boulahrouz will become the second player to head out of Stamford Bridge following Claude Makelele’s move to Paris Saint-Germain, with the Holland defender returning to Germany in a £4m deal. He failed to make an impact at Chelsea following a £10m move from Hamburg in 2006 and even struggled on loan at Sevilla last season, but an impressive Euro 2008 campaign saw his stock rise again. Boulahrouz has agreed personal terms and new Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari will be happy to get him off the books, so expect this one to go through in the next day or so.
Villanueva
Carlos Villanueva, Audax Italiano to Blackburn - Insider says: 4/5
Villanueva is highly-rated in Chile but something of an unknown quantity over here so Blackburn are covering themselves by paying Audax £450,000 for a season-long loan with the option to turn it into a £4m permanent deal by the end of the year. The player is expected to join up with Rovers’ pre-season camp in Germany, and the fact new boss Paul Ince is bringing in attacking midfielders should be seen as a further sign that David Bentley’s days at Ewood Park are numbered.
Riga
Mustapha Riga, Levante to Bolton - Insider says: 3/5
The Ghanaian-born striker wants to play in the Premier League and will be available on a free transfer if he is successful in cancelling his contract with the troubled Spanish club due to non-payment of wages. West Brom and Middlesbrough would also be in the market for Riga, but Bolton want to sign another new striker after landing £10m Johan Elmander and would make room in the squad by selling Heidar Helguson.
Harper
James Harper, Reading to Middlesbrough - Insider says: 4/5
Boro are waiting to Lee Cattermole’s £3m move to Wigan to go through so they can fund the Harper transfer, even though they feel a fee of £5.5m is a little steep for the former Arsenal trainee. Gareth Southgate has made Harper his No.1 target and is under pressure to get the deal done by Reading boss Steve Coppell who has warned the price will go up once the Championship season starts and he has less time to sign a replacement before the August 31 deadline.
