Kenwyne Jones and Carlos Edwards have been withdrawn from their country's match with Jamaica on Tuesday because of illness and injury respectively, but angry Trinidad officials are ready to activate the 'five-day rule' that prevents players from representing their club side for that length of time if they miss an international fixture.
International row: Jones could miss Sunderland's clash with West Ham
Jones missed Sunderland's first away win of the season at Aston Villa on Saturday because of a virus, and Trinidad and Tobago are more accepting of his withdrawal than that of Edwards.
The right winger played 67 minutes at Villa Park before being substituted with a groin injury.
