Staying: Jens Lehmann
But having already seen City express doubts over his initial bid earlier this week, Ranson's latest attempt was ignored by Wardle, who chose to address his transfer strategy for the rest of the year.
"Plans are being made for the new season," said Wardle, who promised to make significant' transfer funds available this summer.
Wardle also believes talks with an American consortium could eventually reach a positive conclusion.
Bolton midfielder Kevin Nolan has criticised Reading defender Michael Duberry for not asking if he was okay after injuring him last weekend.
Duberry's challenge was unpunished by referee Howard Webb but Bolton captain Nolan went to hospital for scans on his ankle.
Nolan, 24, said: "I thought I had broken a bone after being the victim of a very bad tackle. What really annoyed me was that at no point did Duberry ask if I was okay."
Jens Lehmann says he is ready to compromise with Arsenal and stay for another season.
The 37-year-old goalkeeper is out of contract this summer and was looking for a two year extension.
But the club were offering a 12-month deal, as is their policy towards senior players.
That prompted interest from Hertha Berlin, but Lehmann said he would stay another year at The Emirates to play in the Champions League.
