Bolton defender Andy O'Brien has accused Harry Redknapp of 'treating him like a mug' during his spell at Portsmouth.
• More Premier League news club by club
O'Brien was dropped by Portsmouth manager Redknapp and had his shirt number changed from five to 33.
The defender found it hard to tempt new clubs, with many believing he was injured due to his lack of games.
O'Brien said: 'I don't think Harry was very honest with me and he treated me like a mug for quite a long time at Portsmouth. I never doubted myself or my ability but it is fair to say that your confidence dips and you get frustrated.
'I came to pre-season training and found my squad number had changed from five to 33, which was about the biggest one you could get. I had opportunities to leave but it was hard because I was not playing. In the end I'm grateful to Sammy Lee for giving me a chance at Bolton.'
Etuhu facing a dressing down from Keane
Sunderland midfielder Dickson Etuhu is facing a dressing down from manager Roy Keane after he was arrested and questioned by police following a fight in a Norwich nightclub. The incident happened after Etuhu had played in Sunderland's 2-0 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday. The former Norwich player was later released on police bail. A man in his 30s lost his front tooth in the scuffle. Another man, believed to be a relation of Etuhu, was also arrested and bailed. Etuhu, 25, is due to answer bail in January, which could affect his chances of playing for Nigeria in the African Nations Cup.]
Robson in the firing line
Bryan Robson has shrugged off fears for his job but accepted that his Sheffield United side need to restore the confidence of a frustrated home crowd in tomorrow's derby with Barnsley. Home defeats against Plymouth and Stoke, ahead of last week's reverse at Norwich, have left Robson in the firing line. But asked if he felt under pressure, Robson said: 'No. The board are really supportive and we've also got 25,000 willing us to win. It's only if you don't give them anything to cheer that they get anxious, so we must win.'
Roberts' plea for a move rejected by Rovers
Jason Roberts has become the second Blackburn player to have a transfer request rejected. Roberts wanted to quit just weeks after midfielder Aaron Mokoena was told he would not be able to leave in January's transfer window. Fulham have shown interest in both players but Blackburn manager Mark Hughes told striker Roberts he must wait until the summer. Hughes said: 'We had a request from Jason but I am not letting anyone go. He is just unhappy at not getting a lot of games.'
Pay boost for Luton
Luton players will be paid next week for the first time since October after the League One club's FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest. Kevin Blackwell's squad have not been paid since going into administration but their agreement to defer all wages is due to expire today. Coventry City have until this afternoon to avoid going into administration but the club are hoping to conclude a deal for Ray Ranson's takeover.
