Sunderland have completed the signing of defender Greg Halford in a £3million deal from Reading, just five months after he joined them from Colchester.

Rafa must be prudent
Rafa Benitez has been warned by Liverpool's American owners they will not splash out in the transfer market "like a drunken sailor".
George Gillett and Tom Hicks, who took over in February, have said that while cash is available for the Spanish manager, it is limited.
Benitez is frustrated that there have been no signings but Gillett insists Liverpool will buy players only as part of a plan'.
Lennon joins old pal Calderwood
Neil Lennon will this week join Colin Calderwood's coaching staff at Nottingham Forest.
The former Celtic midfielder, who last week turned down an approach from Wycombe Wanderers, will sign a deal to be a player-coach at the League One side.
Lennon, 35, has told Calderwood he wants to take on the challenge of leading Forest back into the Championship, with the announcement made official later this week.
