Cesc Fabregas has dismissed rumours in Spain of a move back to Barcelona by revealing he is in talks about a new Arsenal contract.

The midfielder, who signed an eight-year deal in 2006, said: "I am talking with the club, who are interested in renegotiating. I want to succeed at Arsenal.

"I am proud to be linked to Barca, but for now I'm only thinking of winning as many titles as possible here."

Foster: I'm staying at Old Trafford

Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster has told Sir Alex Ferguson that he has no intention of going out on loan again.

Foster is ahead of schedule in his recovery from knee surgery and will be available for selection before the end of the season.

The 24-year-old is determined to challenge current No 1 Edwin van der Sar for his place rather than repeat his experience of last season, which he spent at Watford.

Tardelli joins Trapattoni in Ireland

Fernando Torres looks certain to miss Liverpool's FA Cup fifth-round tie against Barnsley as manager Rafa Benitez takes no risks with his injured top scorer before next week's Champions League clash with Inter Milan.

Benitez said: "Every player is important to us, but Torres has been scoring goals so we have to be careful."

Barnsley Steal Albion's Steele

Barnsley have taken West Bromwich goalkeeper Luke Steele on loan to replace the injured Heinz Muller ahead of tomorrow's tie at Anfield.
