Birmingham chairman David Gold has demanded an apology from Aston Villa director general Charles Krulak after a row over ticket prices.
Gold was outraged after Krulak posted a message on a Villa fans' forum, saying: 'I'm not sure what Mr Gold is after other than publicity. When you get down in the mud and wrestle with a pig, the pig loves it — and you get muddy. I think I will just let him continue to talk.'
Krulak, Villa owner Randy Lerner's righthand man, claims the pig in question refers to the situation and not Gold himself.
However, Gold said: 'To use my name in an analogy about pigs and mud I find distasteful and insulting. Whether it is Americanese or not, he should not have written that kind of thing.'
Port Vale boss Martin Foyle has left the club by mutual consent after defeat by Luton left them with one win from seven games.
Foyle has been at the League One club for 16 years.
