The Screamer...It's the talk of football
04 May 2007
Sammy Lee wants to make Bolton performance director Mike Forde his new general manager. Lee is keen to follow Steve Coppell's Reading blueprint by promoting from within and wants Forde to perform a similar role to that of Nicky Hammond at the Madejski Stadium.
Lee has already handed midfielder Gary Speed a playercoach position since succeeding Sam Allardyce and Forde, 31, is now being lined up for the role to liaise between Lee and the board.

Lee: Following Steve Coppell's blueprint
Forde worked closely with Allardyce during his eight-year stint at the Reebok Stadium and Lee said: "The general manager will to do an awful lot of the duties that I'm not very good at.
"I prefer to be out coaching on the pitch, but he will be liaising on transfers, contracts and things like that."
THAKSIN COULD FACE £11.8M FINE
The disgraced former Thai Prime Minister trying to buy Manchester City is reported to be facing a £11.8million fine if found guilty of corruption.
Thaksin Shinawatra, who is already facing a tax bill of £324m, could be jailed for 10 years over an allegedly corrupt land deal in Thailand.
Thaksin failed with an attempt to buy Liverpool three years ago. His consortium is currently examining City's books and an official bid is expected soon.
