Allardyce set to snap up Real's Pavon

Bolton are on the brink of sealing a four-year deal with Real Madrid defender Paco Pavon. The 27-year-old centre half has agreed to join on a free transfer in the summer.

He had been highly rated at Madrid but found first-team opportunities limited by big-money signings. Manager Sam Allardyce is eager to bolster his defensive options with Tal Ben Haim expected to leave.

Fratton no more, plans Gaydamak

Portsmouth are to move from their 109-year-old home to a new 36,000-seater stadium. Owner Alexandre Gaydamak has scrapped a proposal to redevelop 20,000-seater Fratton Park and will on Wednesday announce a £35million relocation to Portsmouth Dockyard.
