Thierry Henry will only return for Arsenal

Thierry Henry insists he has no regrets about joining Barcelona and said he would only return to the Premier League to play for Arsenal.

Those comments will come as a blow to Newcastle, who were today linked with a move for the 30-year-old striker.

Henry scored a club-record 226 goals in 370 appearances for Arsenal, but has endured a difficult time at the Nou Camp following his £16million move last June scoring only seven times.

In an interview to be broadcast on BBC's Football Focus tomorrow, Henry said: "I'm happy - I don't regret leaving Arsenal but there's only one team in England for me. Everybody knows the love and affection I have for Arsenal. I was so into it, I became a fan.

"I still have three years of my contract left with Barcelona. There has been since I arrived here a lot of speculation but, hey, go back where? There's only one team for me in my heart.

"It took me a while to understand what that club, Arsenal, meant."

Arsene Wenger, meanwhile, is ready to select his fringe players for the rest of the season.

The Gunners boss, whose team face Derby on Monday, does not want to risk burning out his squad with Euro 2008 looming and is keen to give reserve-team regulars such as Denilson, Mark Randall and Lukasz Fabianski a chance.
