Leeds midfielder Alan Thompson has decided to retire from the game.
The 34-year-old, who was capped once for England against Sweden in 2004, has not played since the 1-0 win at Swindon on March 1 but was part of Gary McAllister's squad for the Coca-Cola League One play-off final.

Thompson, who also played for Bolton, Aston Villa and Celtic, scored 107 goals in 551 career appearances spanning 17 years and told the club's official website, www.leedsunited.com: "I've had a good career but I've decided to call it a day.
"The high point was playing for England but I've got plenty of good memories. I'm going to take a bit of time out now but I would like to stay involved in the game."
Thompson admitted his time at Leeds was enjoyable but added: "I had hoped to have played more of a part and it was disappointing to finish on a low at Wembley."
