The Norwegian was forced to retire last summer after failing to overcome long-term knee problems but is hoping to feature for up to half an hour in what will be the last game he ever plays.
The forward, who had an injury-plagued time with United, scored the winning goal in the 1999 Champions League final against Bayern Munich (see below).
