Former Rangers striker Tore Andre Flo has announced his retirement following a succession of injuries.

Flo became the SPL's costliest signing when he arrived at Ibrox in a £12million move from Chelsea in 2000, but was a flop and joined Sunderland two years later.

The former Norwegian international joined Leeds in January 2007 but broke his foot twice and was forced to have a metal plate inserted.

Flo, 34, said: "I've loved my time at Leeds and in English football in general but I have been fighting a losing battle for fitness following a difficult period in terms of injuries and this is the right decision."
