Tottenham in fight with Chelsea and Liverpool for want-away Bentley

David Bentley has told Blackburn he wants the chance to move on and has turned down an offer of an improved contract.

Liverpool and Chelsea have both tracked the 23-year-old midfielder, but Tottenham, where he would be sure to play every week, believe they could outbid the big four teams for the former Arsenal trainee.

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill, ambitious to break into the Champions League after finishing sixth and looking for a big signing to convince Gareth Barry to stay, could also move for the £15million-rated player whose current contract still has three years to run.
