Darren's desire: Bent celebrates a rare strike against West Ham at the weekend
The England striker was named as a substitute once again for the derby against West Ham and came off the bench to net his first goal since the end of November as his side romped to a 4-0 victory.
When asked if he expects to be at the club next season, Bent replied: "Definitely. I have not even been here for a whole season so I shouldn't be thinking about it.
"If I was two or three years down the line and I was still not playing I would have to think about it.
"There has been a lot of speculation saying I want to leave, but I know I want to be here. Anyone who knows me will know how frustrated I have been. All I want to do is play games.
"But I need to bide my time. The front two are playing fantastically well at the moment. As a partnership, Berba and Keano have already got 40 goals between them.
"It is always going to be difficult to dislodge them, but I know what I need to do and as long as I am part of a good team like Spurs I am happy. It was nice to get on and score a goal but the most important thing was the result."
Meanwhile, Tottenham expect their UEFA Cup tie against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday to go ahead despite industrial action by the Dutch police.
