Trinidad & Tobago v England: Head to head

30 May 2008
England play the second of their double header of close-season friendlies in
tropical climes as manager Fabio Capello continues to get to know his team. Sportsmail sees how the Italian's side match up with their opponents and looks at the managers, recent form and key players.
MANAGERS
Capello's appointment as England boss may not have ticked all of the idealists'
boxes - an English coach still being the preference - but he scores heavily in
terms of experience and successes.
He is one of Italy's most revered coaches following his many years at the top with AC Milan, Roma and Juventus - a time in which he collected a handful of Scudettos, a Champions League winners' medal and four domestic cups.
Capello also tasted success when moving to Spain, bringing home two league titles
for Real Madrid, although his dramatic stewardship of the La Liga title-winning campaign in 2007 was not enough to save his job.
Trinidad and Tobago's Colombian coach Francisco Maturana is a journeyman manager, lacking in neither experience nor diversity.
He has enjoyed several stints with Colombia's national team, winning the Copa America in 2001, as well as tasting success in the Copa Libertadores and Asian
Champions League at club level.

RECENT FORM
England have now had three matches under Capello. A 2-0 victory over Switzerland was followed by the 1-0 defeat against France, which will be remembered more for David Beckham's 100th cap than the standard of football ushered in by the incoming boss.
Capello's last game saw another 2-0 victory, this time over the United States at Wembley thanks to goals from John Terry and Steven Gerrard.
But, more worryingly, the vast majority of players involved in Capello's early squads are those tainted by the humiliating failure to qualify for the forthcoming European Championship.
Few, if any, of the established stars came through the campaign with reputations enhanced and their recent disappointments in England colours are well documented.
Their opponents, meanwhile, are undefeated since Maturana's arrival.
This match will be comfortably their toughest under the Colombian, but wins over El Salvador, Jamaica, Grenada and Barbados as well as a draw with Guadeloupe mean they have a proud record to defend.
High five: England's John Terry celebrates scoring with David Beckham during the friendly against USA.
PLAYERS
While Capello is sure to mould the team in his own image as his tenure continues, he is currently largely reliant on the same players as his two immediate predecessors.
On paper, of course, that is an enviable roster, although seven players involved in last week's Champions League final have been excused from the trip.
Of the men involved in Moscow only Rio Ferdinand, who has links with the Caribbean, and Chelsea full-back Wayne Bridge, who did not get onto the pitch at the Luzhniki Stadium, will be part of the 20-man squad for the match.
Chelsea's John Terry is one of those given an early holiday along with Wayne Rooney, Owen Hargreaves, Wes Brown, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard and Joe Cole.
But Steven Gerrard is included a squad also containing FA Cup winner David James and the ubiquitous Beckham.
T&T's Dwight Yorke is a player who once travelled in similar orbits, but his international career is over.
Instead the country's leading lights include Sunderland duo Carlos Edwards and Kenwyne Jones and the well-travelled Southampton striker Stern John.
There are a large number of home-based players unfamiliar to the British audience, while the likes of Dennis Lawrence and Clayton Ince may be known only to lower league fans.
