Turner's Earners - Saturday and Sunday: Ungaro to take charge in Post

22 February 2008
Rely on Ungaro (Kempton, 3.15), a best-priced 6-1 with Ladbrokes, to deliver the Racing Post Chase for trainer Keith Reveley this afternoon.
Sir Robert Ogden's nine-year-old looked like winning another major three-mile handicap, the Sky Bet Chase, at Doncaster last month until being collared close home by An Accordion and can go one better today.
Reveley raider: Ungaro can collect Kempton prize
He had two of today's rivals, Yardbird and Bagan, back in seventh and eighth on that occasion and although the lastnamed failed to show his true form there, it may pay to side with the northern raider who has already won over today's course and distance, having landed the 2006 Feltham Chase by 10 lengths.
In the day's other big betting heat, the marathon Eider Chase, ROYAL ROSA (Newcastle, 3.35), looks a lively outsider.
Howard Johnson's nine-year-old is still capable of decent form on his day as he showed when third at this afternoon's venue over three miles in the Rehearsal Chase behind Harmony Brig and Aleron.
Admittedly he has disappointed twice since then but that should make his price more attractive, (28-1 with totesport) and he's worth giving another chance to in a typically wide open renewal.
There is a top-class all-weather Flat card at Lingfield where the speedy FROMSONG (Lingfield, nb, 3.10) is taken to overcome his draw on the wide outside in the handicap sprint and give weight away to all his rivals.
Dean Ivory's veteran looked better than ever at the age of 10 when recording a smart time to make all over six furlongs at the track last time.
In the concluding event at the Surrey venue, the front-running MONKEY GLAS (Lingfield, nap, 5.10) has looked an improved performer after being fitted with a visor since the turn of the year. He can dominate his five rivals from the front granted an easy lead.
If claimer Andrew Elliott does not set too fast a pace, he can reverse form over course and distance from last time with Alfresco.
Today's lay is Even More (Chepstow, 3.55), who is likely to be taken on up front by Dinnie Flanagan and whose last four wins have all come at Taunton.
ROBIN GOODFELLOW'S DOUBLE: Fromsong (Lingfield, 3.15) and Monkey Glas (Lingfield, nap, 5.10)
GIMCRACK'S DOUBLE: Pierrot Lunaire (Kempton, nap, 3.50) and Touch of Irish (Newcastle, 5.05)
CAPTAIN HEATH'S NAP: Alsadaa (Kempton, 2.05)
FORMCAST SPECIAL BET: Fromsong (Lingfield, 3.10)
THE WIZARD: Binocular (Kempton, 3.50)
