Turner's Earners - Take Channon Guest to star on Town Moor

Capable Guest (Doncaster, nap, 2.00) has been accused of failing to realise his potential in the past, but his recent efforts have been encouraging and Mick Channon's durable handicapper has solid claims in today's opener at Town Moor.

The six-year-old son of Cape Cross was a fine second at Pontefract last Tuesday in a truly-run event and many form judges rated that performance as one of the best of Capable Guest's career.

He takes on some potential improvers this afternoon in the form of Crocodile Bay and Mia's Boy, but I'm hopeful that the topweight can put his fitness and his ability to handle soft ground to effect and record his fifth win.

UPPER CLASS (Kempton, nb, 2.05) made short work of a decent field at Wolverhampton last time and could be worth siding with until beaten.

An imposing son of Fantastic Light, the Middleham raider responded to being ridden prominently last time and is well drawn for the same tactics to be employed today. The lay vote goes to Spice Route (Kempton, 3.45) in the Listed Magnolia Stakes.

ROBIN GOODFELLOW'S DOUBLE: Capable Guest (Doncaster, nap, 2.00) and Upper Class (Kempton, 2.05)

GIMCRACK'S DOUBLE: BallaBriggs (Bangor, 3.30) and William Bonney (Newbury, nap, 5.05)

CAPTAIN HEATH'S NAP: Back On Line (Newbury, 2.55)

FORMCAST SPECIAL BET: Cha Cha Cha (Doncaster, 3.05)

THE WIZARD: Soapy Danger (Doncaster, 3.35)

WORK WHISPER: CHARM SCHOOL (Doncaster, 5.15)

BURNT FINGERS: EDGEBURY (Newbury, 4.30)

GOODFELLOW'S SUNDAY BEST

GOODFELLOW'S NAP: STARK RAVEN (Hexham, 2.40).

Sandra Forster's lightly-raced charge shaped with promise over hurdles at this track last time and this former point-to-point winner looks sure to appreciate the step up in trip now switched to fences, on ground he'll handle.
