Twente boss McClaren worries team will struggle against Arsenal in qualifier

Steve McClaren believes his FC Twente side are going to struggle to knock out of the Champions League.

The Dutch qualified for Europe's elite club competition by edging out Ajax in the Eredivisie play-offs and would have hoped for a better draw in the third qualifying round than a meeting with Arsene Wenger's side tomorrow night.

Former England boss McClaren said: 'Arsenal are one of the strongest teams we could have met. They are among the favourites to win the competition.

'But for our young team it will be something special.'

McClaren returned to football with Twente in June after a torrid period in charge of England but has been impressed by his new surroundings.

He said: 'I see people working for the club with passion who want to go further.'
