Udal and his Middlesex team face a big-money match of their own, against Trinidad, as part of next month's Stanford Super Series.

They will also meet England in a warm-up game before the main event on 1 November, when a dropped catch or a loose ball could make the difference between Kevin Pietersen's side winning a fortune and walking away with nothing.

"It's going to be interesting," said Udal, who played a big part in Middlesex's domestic Twenty20 Cup triumph this summer and has now taken over as captain. "We'll see on the day whether or not it affects anyone.

"There will be pressure on England when they play for 20m dollars, because it is winner-takes-all. But they have the players to do well and I'm very confident they will come away with the win."

England are due to announce their Stanford squad later today and Udal doesn't expect to see many surprises in the squad.

He added: "I don't see England altering their team too much from the one that has just beaten South Africa.

"I think there would be a lot of animosity if they suddenly brought someone in just for this tournament."
