United will not prevent Anderson from playing for Brazil in Beijing

manager Sir Alex Ferguson will not stop Brazilian midfielder Anderson travelling to the Beijing Games.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport yesterday ruled FIFA had no power to order clubs to release their players for the Olympics.

But despite United's injury problems ahead of the new Barclays Premier League season, Ferguson will not force Anderson back to Old Trafford as knows the pride Brazilians take in representing their country.

Olympic bound: Anderson will not be stopped from representing Brazil by United.

However the verdict in Switzerland affects 12 players at other Premier League clubs.

Liverpool have Javier Mascherano, Lucas and Ryan Babel away at the Games and  face a midfield problem for next Wednesday's Champions League qualifier with Standard Liege.
