United's Ronaldo goes all quiet on Chelsea's Portugal pal Carvalho ahead of Euro final

Ricardo today revealed how Portugal team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo is giving him the silent treatment before tomorrow night's Champions League Final in Moscow.

The duo are friends off the pitch, but Chelsea defender Carvalho says the stakes are so high that the Manchester United topscorer has gone quiet on him.

Carvalho said: "Normally we speak to each other but he doesn't want to. We will speak after the final, we're both focused on our teams.

"It is the most important game you can have for your club and it is a big trophy for us to get. We have to show we are the best team in the final and it's important for us to win.

"They are strong like us and it will be difficult. It's just one game, so luck may decide who will win. But the most important thing is we make our own luck by playing well."

But Carvalho admits Ronaldo's understanding with Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez is giving him cause for concern.

The trio have scored 78 goals for Sir Alex Ferguson's side between them this term and Carvalho added: "They have scored so many goals this season, they have great players up front.

"They know what runs to make and it will be very difficult for us. We have to be focused."

The 29-year-old is one of six players at Chelsea to have won a Champions League before coming to Stamford Bridge and he hopes the rest of the squad will experience the winning feeling on Wednesday night.

He said: "It was great for me when I won it with Porto, but everyone at Chelsea deserves it."

Chelsea centre-half Carvalho said: "Normally we speak to each other, but he doesn't want to. We will speak after the final as we are both focused on our teams.
