Unlucky for Keegan - there are just 13 Magpies training on the pitch

Kevin Keegan has started pre-season training with just 13 first team players. The Newcastle manager has given new signing Jonas Gutierrez an extra week off, as well his African stars Geremi and Abdoulaye Faye, after their international duties over the summer.
Making up the numbers: Keegan has a small turnout at training today
Mark Viduka (achilles), Andy Carroll (heel), Tamas Kadar (knee) and Wesley Ngo Baheng (cruciate) have all missed the start of training through injury and could be out for the start of the season.
Midfielder Joey Barton is still in prison, and unlikely to return for another month as he completes his sentence.
And Keegan has moved on Peter Ramage, Emre, Stephen Carr and James Troisi.
The Newcastle manager, linked with a move for Chelsea midfielder Steve Sidwell, is hoping for new signings before the mid-August start.
And he has re-assured winger James Milner he has a future at St James's Park, despite interest from Aston Villa and the addition of Gutierrez from Real Mallorca.
