Venables on shortlist for national job

Former England manager Terry Venables is on a seven-man shortlist for the job of Bulgaria coach.

Venables, who has also been linked with the vacant Republic of Ireland post, has held talks with the Bulgarian Football Union, whose president Borislav Mihaylovit said yesterday they were waiting to hear back from the 64-year-old.

Venables was Steve McClaren's No2 until they were both sacked last month.
