Venus eclipsed by her sister

Serena Williams twice came from behind to beat sister Venus and register an impressive 7-6, 7-6 quarter-final win in New York.

In an outstanding match, Serena trailed 5-2 in the second-set tie-break before clawing her way back to seal victory in two hour 25 minutes. Venus wasted a remarkable 10 set points.

"It definitely felt like a final of the US Open, it was so hard and I feel like I should have some kind of trophy now," said Serena. "I don't want to go out in the next round, especially not after that."

Serena now meets sixth-seeded Russian Dinara Safina for a place in the final.
