Vieira: Wenger will walk away from Arsenal

Arsene Wenger could still walk away from Arsenal as he considers his future over the summer.

The Gunners manager has a year left on his contract at the Emirates Stadium but is still unhappy at the departure of close friend David Dein, who left his influential role as a director last month.

Alone without Dein: Arsene Wenger

Dein persuaded the board to appoint Wenger in 1996 but was forced out for supporting an approach by US tycoon Stan Kroenke.

Former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira believes Wenger will look for a fresh challenge after losing his close ally.

The Inter Milan star, who spent nine years in N5, feels his old gaffer will be on his way now he no longer has his ally at the club.

And he thinks that could have a domino effect with Thierry Henry also packing his bags and either joining him at the San Siro or heading to La Liga with Barcelona.

"They started together and they have been together a long time and I can't see Arsene finishing the job by himself,'" said the France World Cup winner.

"It was a big shock to hear that David was going, I didn't really believe it. I really had to ask people if it was real because I didn't believe it. He has been there a long time and it is difficult to know how he left the club so quickly."
