He may have once complained bitterly about the way goalkeepers train, but manager Roy Keane had his own taste of life between the sticks in the Algarve today.
It was in Saipan six years ago, with the Republic of Ireland World Cup squad and just before his infamous bust-up with Mick McCarthy, that Keane let fly at former Irish goalkeeping coach Packie Bonner.

The keepers were struggling to train in the heat that day, but Keane was upset that they had refused to carry on.
This morning, Keane put on the gloves and took in a shooting session towards the end of training, saving well from Ross Wallace and Rada Prica, before he was well beaten by a well-struck Daryl Murphy shot.

The manager has decided to start with former Wales keeper Darren Ward for tomorrow's second Algarve friendly against Vitoria de Setubal in Albufeira.
But Kieran Richardson is out with a dead leg.
