Webb catches Arsenal again

Howard Webb has made history after being awarded Saturday's Arsenal versus Manchester United fixture.

Webb, you will recall, took charge of Arsenal's game at Liverpool at the weekend and it is unprecedented for an official to be awarded the same team two games running.

In fact, Webb, his two assistants and Alan Wiley, the fourth official from the 1-1 draw at Anfield, will all be on duty at the Emirates Stadium.

They were excellent on Sunday, but were there any outstanding issues, either positive or negative, with any Arsenal players? Will familiarity cause problems? Will Sir Alex Ferguson have concerns that 'friendships' made last week could affect situations this week? Will Arsene Wenger be concerned that Webb needs to prove his impartiality?

I genuinely rate Webb as an excellent refereeing prospect and hope that the pressure, which is surely unnecessary given that there are 19 professional referees in England, does not affect him or the biggest game of the season so far.
