We'll play by the rules in bid to sign Ronaldo: Real chief responds to United threat

Real Madrid sporting director Predrag Mijatovic insists they have no agreement in place with Cristiano Ronaldo about a possible move to the Spanish champions.
Madrid's pursuit of Ronaldo has been making headlines for the last few weeks, with barely a day going by without some media speculation regarding the Spanish side's interest in the Manchester United winger.

Mijatovic admits Madrid are keen on the 23-year-old, but has dismissed any suggestion that they have agreed anything with the player.
"He is an objective, but we cannot do anything if his club do not want to part with him. Until this time we do not have anything with the player," he said in Portuguese newspaper Diario de Noticias.
The constant speculation regarding Madrid's interest in Ronaldo has annoyed United, so much so that the European champions recently warned they would report the Spanish side to FIFA if they continued what the Red Devils felt were public attempts to unsettle the Portugal international.
Madrid president Ramon Calderon assured United this week that they were "not going to influence any player to break their contractual relationship", and Mijatovic has also insisted the Spanish giants would not go against the laws set out by football's governing bodies.
"At this moment Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best in the world, a fantastic player and it is clear that we are interested, but he has a team and never will we go against the rules of FIFA and UEFA," he adde
