Wenger: Calderon's lack of respect over Ronaldo shows big clubs lack values

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has launched a stinging attack on Real Madrid for 'destabilising' Cristiano Ronaldo - and insists he has every sympathy for old foe Sir Alex Ferguson.
Wenger and United manager Ferguson have rarely seen eye-to-eye in the past and at times have barely spoken except to hurl insults at each other.
It was United who ended Arsenal's 49-game unbeaten Premier League run in 2004 to add further friction between the two following a protracted war of words between the two.
Ronaldo's United through and through: Except when Real Madrid want him
However, Wenger has backed Fergie in the ongoing Ronaldo transfer saga by accusing Spanish champions Real Madrid of 'destablising' the player, insisting the Scot has every right to moan about the way Real have gone about trying to poach the Portuguese winger.
'If you don't show respect to other clubs, I think that football is moving in the wrong way,' Wenger told The Mirror.
'You cannot come out like president Ramon Calderon has done at Real Madrid with Manchester United, and tell them they cannot stop a player from leaving.
'You can destabilise any player in the world - that is irresponsible. The big clubs should have values and vision, and be setting an example to others. If we do not do that in football, then we do not understand our responsibilities.'
